Large Carnivore Initiative for Europe |
|
The network
The LCIE is just a small group of people. The task of conserving large carnivores in Europe is enormous. Therefore, achieving results on the ground will require the efforts of many private people, scientists, NGOs and governments.
The LCIE hopes to be able to enhance the effectiveness of the entire conservation community by providing inspiration and expert advice. In addition, we aim to maintain a wide network of interested people and experts who can be both the source and the target for information. Only by networking can we all make the most of each others experience, and learn from what works and what doesn't. While this website is our prime tool for reaching people we want to maintain a database of email contact details for all those working for carnivore conservation in what ever capacity. We will use this list to contact people working in specific areas, to put people in touch with relevant experts when they are seeking help, and we will send out occasional emails to all informing you of upcoming events or important updates on the website. At present we have a database of 110 NGOs and 400 individual experts - but I am sure that there are many more people out there. If you want to be included on this list then contact Agnieszka Olszańska at olszanska@iop.krakow.pl.
