Human dimensions

Large carnivore conservation is only partially an issue concerning the carnivores and their habitats. Wherever they exist in Europe they will need to coexist with people. Bringing about this coexistence requires knowledge about people, and their attitudes towards large carnivores, large carnivore conservation, and conservation in general. In addition, it is crucial that decision-making processes concerning large carnivore management plans are conducted in an open and fair manner, where people with diverse points of view are able to make their opinions heard. These topics are refered to as the human-dimension.
