How to get the most from camera trapping projects?

Author: John Linnell/Wednesday, January 23, 2019/Categories: News

Camera traps are becoming the method-of-choice for many aspects of researching and monitoring large carnivores, especially for species like lynx that can often be individually recognised. But, for every image of a lynx there will typically be hundreds of other images of other species like deer, haresm foxes, martens  etc. This information is potentially invaluable, but there are many challenges associated with making the most out of it. A new review in the journal Ecology and Evolution outlines some of these challenges and potential ways around them.
